Paul Dieken became the Director of Financial Aid at Â鶹´«Ã½ in July 2022. Prior to that he spent 26 years working in the University of Southern California Office of Financial Aid. Paul received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA and a masters and doctorate in Education from USC. He is also an adjunct professor at the Rossier School of Education at USC teaching classes in higher education finance and financial aid.
Fun Fact: Paul went to high school in Torrance California before attending three different colleges and two universities. Paul enjoys time at home with his wife and their two cats.
Uvaldo Calderon is an Associate Director of Financial Aid at Â鶹´«Ã½. Uvaldo received his BA in Economics in 2001 and worked in banking and finance until 2008 when he began working in financial aid. He has never looked back. As both a first generation college graduate and proud father of a recent college graduate, Uvaldo especially enjoys helping students and parents understand how financial aid works to make college more affordable.
Jessica joined Pomona’s Financial Aid Office in March of 2013. She is a native of California, and has lived nearby her whole life. She even attended Sycamore Elementary School here in Claremont. Jessica is the first in her family to attend college and attended Cal Baptist University in Riverside, to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Counseling/Psychology. Jessica enjoys the opportunity to support students on their quest to completing a college degree, and values the opportunity Â鶹´«Ã½ gives to its students: Making college both affordable and attainable.
Fun Fact: Jessica enjoys watching her daughters play volleyball and run track. She also loves sports and is a HUGE Packers/Lakers Fan!
Daniela is a first-generation college graduate from UC San Diego, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics. While earning her degree, she worked as a high school math tutor and her joy for helping students only grew from there! While Daniela enjoys working with numbers, she really values assisting students to make sure they understand financial aid and making sure they feel supported.
Fun Fact: Daniela enjoys crafting!! She loves doing calligraphy, scrapbooking and recently started playing with wax stamp seals. She is also a huge Dodgers fan.
Natasha Saenz is a first-generation college graduate from California State University of San Bernardino. She received her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Anthropology. After college she worked at a law firm that specialized in personal injury and criminal defense cases. Her career took a shift 5 years ago when she was introduced to the financial aid field. Through her learning process she discovered that she wanted to grow in her career and be supportive of students who are seeking assistance with understanding their financial aid. Her goal is to ensure students receive the guidance and assistance they need in financial aid to help support their educational plan.
Fun Fact: Natasha is a boy mom. On her spare time, she enjoys taking her boys on outings. On most weekends you can find her at farmers markets supporting small business owners. She also loves the outdoors and going on hiking adventures.
Dalia Vasquez is a proud Angeleno who joined Â鶹´«Ã½ in November 2021. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Women and Gender Studies at Cal State Los Angeles. Her background consists of working with schools and Non Profits. She prides herself in giving back to her community and helping others in any way she can. She takes on work with dedication, a positive attitude, and has a passion in helping others.
Fun Fact: Dalia has seen her favorite artist more times than she can count on her fingers and toes!
Armida joined Â鶹´«Ã½ in 2022. She is excited to be able to help students with their Financial Aid questions and life here at Â鶹´«Ã½. Armida comes to us with over 8 ½ years of administrative assistant experience. New to Financial Aid she is learning a lot and enjoying being able to help students and their families with questions or concerns they may have.
